Please to remember the 5th of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot
I see no reason why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!

It's Guy Fawkes / Bonfire Night, and once again, I find myself without parkin.  I am going to have to find some sparklers, and maybe some Roman candles.
I wonder if I could hijack a school kitchen?  Would they let me bake?

Today's an odd holiday: a celebration of the execution of a man who could easily be seen as a hero, especially if you're an anti-monarchist such as myself.  I guess I just rationalize it as a commemoration of the death of a martyr.

If I were in England right now, I could go chubbing, and collect pennies for the Guy, and there would certainly be parkin readily available, and many fireworks.

On the bright side, I get to screen my first film tonight: Space Cadet Adventures!

Hmm... you've probably already read this, but it's still v. interesting: http://io9.com/5075461/what-+-and-who-+-is-next-for-new-who

It would be wonderful to see Sean Pertwee in the Tardis, in my opinion -- he was my favourite part of Cadfael,,,,well, and Derek Jacobi. But the whole River Song thing -- the possibility of never having any resolution on that storyline -- just irks me. You?

First of all, I am so sad that David Tennant is leaving! I just got over the horror of him almost regenerating at the end of this series! I can't go through that again! Not so soon!

I understand though, that he will eventually have to leave. And I guess that even with the sadness of losing a Doctor, there is a bit of excitement about a new Doctor. A fresh start, all that potential...

It would be very strange to see Sean Pertwee in the TARDIS... He bears such a strong resemblance to his father. There's certainly a nice meta aspect to it, as well as a nostalgic one.

The River Song thing does annoy me. Although at the same time, the idea of a romantic counterpart for the Doctor bothered me... I guess I'm just one of those fans who can't stand romantic plotlines... For some reason, they just seem so wrong when the Doctor is involved.

I liked the suggestion of John Simm, but at the same time, I wish they'd bring him back as the Master. He just did such a fantastic job in the role...

Marc Warren would be kind of awesome. I've liked him in everything I've seen him in. I don't know whether he'd make a good Doctor or not. He's very talented, and he's pulled off some amazing roles... It was lovely to see him in Love and Monsters. I mostly like that episode because of him. I mean, the ELO dancing! That will put me in a good mood for a week...

James Nesbit would be weird for me. I've only seen him in Millions and Waking Ned Divine. While memorable, neither of his characters were particularly Doctor like...

And finally, Paterson Joseph. The only thing I've seen him in is Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways. I seem to remember his character being very unpleasant. Donna was initially very unpleasant. It could go either way.
